Hotel restaurant Sophia is proud to be among the recipients of a special plate recognition by the Michelin Star Guide.

The former reception area of the original Palace Hotel has been transformed into the à-la-carte, gourmet Restaurant Sophia, designed in affectionate tribute to the beauty of the Italian diva Sophia Loren.

The stone pillars, vintage chandeliers, the large fireplace and its painting are original items from the traditional Palace Hotel and were restored carefully during the renovation.

The menu, changed seasonally, features exquisite luxury and refined Mediterranean cuisine, including a rich blend of Italian flavours and fine French ingredients complemented by local produce and flavours from all around the world.

Today, Restaurant Fleur de Sel offers fusion cuisine; a combination of local traditional and modern food, served in a laidback yet stylish atmosphere.

The restaurant’s bright and white interior is combined with modern furniture and details, such as small crystals embedded in the bar, representing the salt flower.

The restaurant is set in a stunning location on Floor M with a terrace overlooking the Bay of Piran and neighbouring country Croatia and serves fusion cuisine complemented with Istrian tastes.

The terrace is perfect for a romantic dinner with a view of the sunset over the Adriatic Sea.

In the afternoons and after dinner, the high society enjoyed coming together in stylish salons for tea, digestives and cigars to indulge in good conversation, card games and banter. 

In keeping with the history and traditions of the traditional Palace hotel in the times of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, the luxury hotel Kempinski Palace Portorož proudly presents two salons, completely renovated and restored: the Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s Saloon.

The saloons are positioned on the left and right side of the Crystal Hall respectively and have been completely renovated to their original grandeur.

Both rooms are available for smaller meetings, private dinners and exclusive receptions or parties. Ladies Saloon can be used as a gallery for an art exhibition or it can be a great location for a bachelorette party.

And while ladies are having a party on one side, a casino night can be organised for the gentlemen on the other side with fine cognacs.
